The Matmut Atlantique was inaugurated in May 2015. It is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose arena built to host the EURO 2016 games. With a 42 000 seats capacity, the arena is not only designed to host the football games of “The Girondins de Bordeaux”, but also various types of events – such as rugby games and concerts. The AirFibr technology was chosen to equip the arena in order to allow intensive use of the pitch while maintaining the elite quality standards of the playing surface. The early games on the AirFibr sport turf were a great success: the pitch quality was impeccable during the succession of two TOP 14 rugby half-finals in less than 24h, in June 2015. The turf was even granted the best possible grade by the LFP and Canal+.
